Today’s Good News: Building Trades Unions Help Gang Members Find Brighter Future
The Los Angeles Times recently told a truly heartwarming story: building trades unions, including the Teamsters, Ironworkers, and Sheet Metal Workers, are killing two birds with one stone. They’re stemming the tide of non-union construction that threatens their wages and working conditions. Plus, they’re helping former gang members, including ex-felons, do better than they ever dreamed possible, with union jobs paying as much as $49/hour. Is this not the definition of a WIN-WIN SITUATION?
