Today’s Good News: Greenbuzz Has Finger on Pulse of Change
If you’re looking for news and thoughtful analysis about how people, companies, and governments are improving environmental practice, the Greenbuzz newsletter is a good resource. A recent issue includes: A story about how middle managers influence both lower-level workers and top managers and are often critical to making change happen. A story about how the author’s trip to China enhanced her understanding of the human factors behind change. A list of retailers ranked by the National Wildlife Federation based on their use of sustainably harvested wood products. At the top of the list: Crate & Barrel and Pier 1 Imports. The second tier includes Home Depot, Lowe’s and IKEA. Scraping the bottom were Wal-MArt, which doesn’t offer any sustainable-certified products, andSmith & Hawken, who declined to participate in the study, although the company says it uses only ecologically harvested timber.
