Today’s Good News: Wiretap Magazine

Today I stumbled upon a great new resource: Wiretap Magazine, whose slogan is “ideas and action for a new generation.” Wiretap is a project of Alternet and the Tides Foundation - good pedigree there. It’s calling on a wide range of young activists for their thoughts and what’s going on with them.

I particularly enjoy the “Building A Movement” section of the website. Adrienne Maree Brown writes some insightful and practical pieces, for example, on visioning and meeting facilitation. The “Youth Activism” section covers interesting developments such as youth involvement in DRUM, Desi’s Rising Up and Moving, a New York organization of the low-income South Asian community there. These kids were 10 or 12 when 9/11 changed everything for Muslims and all immigrants in America. This is definitely a must-read for young activists and all concerned with the new generation. Check it out here.
